Here's a quote from Henri Nouwen's book Reaching Out:
"While visiting the University of Notre Dame, where I had been a teacher for a few years, I met an older experienced professor who had spent most of his life there. And while we strolled over the beautiful campus, he said with a certain melancholy in his voice, "You know . . . my whole life I have been complaining that my work was constantly interrupted, until I discovered that my interruptions were my work."
I've been thinking more about the comment I made last week about "work/life" balance. Of course once something like this is on your mind, you begin to bump into it everywhere! Apparently Henri Nouwen also had some similar thoughts.
As did Adam McHugh, who blogs at Introverted Church. If you'd like to think about this idea some more with us, why not check out his blog? You'll find there some interesting thoughts for us introverts who often feel out-of-step with the prevailing culture and some expectations put on us.
Not many answers today, folks, but I hope to plant some seed thoughts for you to chew on.
