I finish my blog for the morning, then stand to look out my study window. In the semi-darkness, the frosty white snow gleams in the frozen landscape surrounding the houses on my street. Dawn is coming.
The far horizon is brushed with deep purple light. Clouds appear, at first as streaks of grey, then morph into a quiet blue. Slowly but steadily, the sky lightens.
Suddenly a jet rises above the Eastern horizon; its vapour trail blazing in iridescent brilliance; a reflection of the sun that is not yet visible due to the slow rotation of the earth.
Today the sun will shine above the Great Lakes Basin, and even though the temperature may not reach single digits below zero, we will feel the warm blessing of its glow.
May you know the warmth of the Divine Presence today.
